Civic Education as well as the compulsory school obligatory subject and area for life-long-learning is by the nature specific and integrative entity of social knowledge and skills.
Civics has essential content and methods of teaching.
As well as we can not understand the developments in the society in separation, as well we can not teach lessons about the areas of societal life by topics isolated from each-other. Therefore Civic Education Centre deals with the Civic Education development projects, which very often are not determined and defined very clearly by their areas and topics. The projects moreofted contain variety of Civics related areas.

We are dealing with History to make people better understand todays world, the origin and genesis of its problems. Knowledge about history and historical skills are fundamental for peoples' capacity to use the opportunities offered to them by the democratic society and to broaden the scope of the opportunities.
Human Rights are considered in our work not to be a historical document from the XX-th century, but as the assessment tool for measuring the shared by the mankind values in the world of XXI century.
Integration of the society in our projects is first of all fostering by our activities mutual understanding between the communities of Estonians and non-Estonians in Estonia.
Dealing with the isses of Multicultural Society we point out two major sides in it:
- helping people to understand Estonia as a Multicultural society
- indicating the specific feature of education in the Multicultural society and the challenges of it for teaching process at school.
Law Education from the point of wiew of Civic Education is considered to be informing people about the characteristics of the law system in which we live and providing judicial skills for managing in the society.
Economical Education from the point of wiew of Civic Education is considered to be educating people for enabling them to see and understand better the essential side of the life of the society - economy and providing them basic skill for operating in the economical life.
Education, including curriculum development in our projects is a topic of permanent process of dealing with various aspects of Civic Education. Coming to new understandins and ideas while working on different aspects of Civics, is essential. Time-to-time it is needed to reflect some of the outcomes in the curriculum and syllabi.
Dealing with the teaching methods of Civics is unbreakable for most of the listed here topics and areas. This direction of the work is very much influenced by the international cooperation.
Dealing with the content of Civics is a process belonging to didactics, which is considered by us as paying attention to the problems of content and methods while teaching Civics.
Consumer education is a modern trend in the education of the XXI of century. The goal of consumer education in our projects is to equip people as consumers with the knowledge and skills characteristic to the democratic free market society.
We are dealing with the topics and areas while implementing various projects.
